Flipkart will Give Fifteen thousand Rupees Penalty Instead of Charger of 259 Rupees
Famous online shopping website Flipkart was heavily forced to sell a bad charger. Instead of charging only Rs 259, he will have to pay 15 thousand rupees to his customer. This penalty has been imposed on Flipkart because the customer’s mobile was damaged due to problems in the mobile charger.
Irfani complained to Flipkart in this case. But the company refused to give him compensation saying that the device was spoiled due to the short circuit. Apart from this, the company said that the product quality is not the responsibility of Flipkart, they only work as cellar and user seed mediators. After this, Irfani files a petition in the Consumer Forum.According to a report of Times of India, a man named Dr Ahmed AQ Irfani bought a charger worth Rs 259 from Flipkart. But when he charged his phone with this charger, the charger’s wire was burnt within just 10 minutes. Because of this charger, Irfani’s phone also got spoiled. The Consumer Forum, giving its verdict in favor of Irfani, said that Flipkart could not withdraw from its responsibilities.
The forum’s bench said that the complainant is not only entitled to a refund, but it should also get the correct compensation. After this decision, Flipkart will have to pay Rs. 15 thousand to Irfani for the charger of Rs 259.
